Let say first that either using wilton or axminster weaving processes most our customers needs and wishes regarding bespoke carpet runners or stair runners carpet can be easily fulfilled. However some specific home decor or interior design projects for exclusive places may request the manufacturing of luxurious handmade hand tufted from 100% wool carpet runners and stair runner carpets.

Any elegant stair runner will improve the staircase elegance and give brilliance to any staircase design scheme in your home or in hotels and public buildings but any our hand tufted stair carpet runner will transform the most average of staircases into a stunning centrepiece....

Even if minimun quantity is reasonably low to produce woven carpet runners or stair runner carpet (it will vary according to design, number of colors, pattern repeat etc...) with 20 to 25 linear meters in wilton jacquard and about 50 linear meters in axminster, there is still a minimum quantity.....

This is not the same with hand tufted carpet as we may do everything from one single square meter..........

Hand tufted manufacturing is already featured into the hand tufted wool area rugs section of the site but let us say in a few words that the principle for stair runners carpet and corridors or hallway carpet runners remains the same:

Hand-tufted runners are handmade using a "Tufting gun": a hand-operated tool that punches strands of wool into a canvas stretched on a frame onto the design of the carpet runner has been drawn before. The worker will then fills in the pattern with the appropriate color wool. Once the rug design is fully piled (and this can take as little as four or five days for a 9' x 12' wool rug), the rug is removed from the frame and a jute or cotton fabric is glued to the back of the rug (see also carpet manufacturing processes)
